CureCervicalCancer (CCC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the early detection and prevention of cervical cancer. We provide professional education for doctors and nurses in resource-poor settings surrounding cervical cancer prevention, and partner with already established clinics to support a sustainable cervical cancer prevention program.

Since 2013, CCC screened over 125,000 women, treated over 8,000 women, trained 629 healthcare professionals, and established 100 sustainable “See & Treat” clinics in 9 countries.

CureCervicalCancer is recruiting a Clinical Advisor who will serve as medical expert and lead trainer for our established “See & Treat” training programs. Local healthcare providers will be trained to screen for precancerous cervical lesions using visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA) and to treat eligible lesions with thermal ablation/cryotherapy. The training will consist of a full day of classroom teaching followed by four days of practicum to screen and treat patients. The Clinical Advisor will travel internationally 1-2 times annually with CureCervicalCancer team for 5 day training programs. Must be available to commit to 1-2 times international trips annually for 7-10 days at a time. No training or patient care occurs in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

● Provide on-site VIA / Cryotherapy / Thermal ablation classroom training and clinical consultation during practicum to trainees, volunteers, and CureCervicalCancer staff

● Provide technical and programmatic support for “See & Treat” training serving as a source of clinical expertise

● Develop and/or revise evidence-based training material

● Provide expert knowledge regarding best practices for cervical cancer prevention to the CureCervicalCancer team

● Meet with CureCervicalCancer team quarterly to discuss and coordinate strategy on policy development, trainings, outreach, new materials and evaluation (this can be a phone call if long distance)

● Represent CureCervicalCancer to key stakeholders including donors, foreign Ministry of Health officials and international partners.

● Monitor the landscape of new technology options related to cervical cancer prevention to help identify effective and feasible new opportunities

Required Qualifications:

● Doctor of Medicine required; advanced training and experience in oncology, obstetrics and gynecology, and/or reproductive health required.

● Expertise in clinical aspects of screening for cervical dysplasia, diagnosis and treatment of abnormal findings, and pathophysiology and disease process of cervical cancer

● 3-5 years of teaching experience

● Experience working/volunteering in a developing-country

● Exceptional leadership skills, including commitment to collaborative management within a team-based organizational structure

● Excellent oral and written English communication skills

● Excellent diplomacy, interpersonal, and professional communication skills

● Prefer a candidate with experience in implementation of VIA (Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid) and cryotherapy/thermal ablation

Compensation: All trip related expenses also covered including airfare, accommodation, in-country transportation, meals, visas, and any required vaccinations.
