About the opportunity
The New Colombo Plan (NCP) is a signature initiative of the Australian government which aims to lift knowledge of the Indo Pacific in Australia by supporting undergraduates to study and undertake internships in the region. The NCP Program involves a scholarship program for study of up to one year and internships or mentorships, and a flexible mobility grants program for both short and longer-term study, internships, mentorships, practicums, research, and language training.

Palladium has been appointed by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) as the Service Provider to deliver the NCP Managed Administration and Support Services (NCP MASS) which aims to provide an integrated suite of services to support the objectives of the NCP Program. The Communications Specialist will provide professional marketing and communications support to the communications, promotions, and stakeholder engagement functions of the New Colombo Plan (NCP) Administrative and Support Services program, ensuring a consistent, seamless, and high-quality experience for NCP students, university partners, host institutions and organisations, and alumni. Support services are to be provided in accordance with the contracted schedule of services, as well as the Contractor Guidelines and other relevant guiding documents.

Position reports to: Manager, Communication and Events, NCP MASS
Location: Canberra or Adelaide, Australia
Contract type: Full-time, fixed term until 30 June 2025

About you
– Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent experience in communications, promotions, marketing, or a related discipline.
– Demonstrated understanding of the tertiary student market especially undergraduates and associated digital communications strategies and tactics using a range of social media platforms.
– Ability to source, write and edit communications materials for a range of channels and stakeholders, including social media, print and online.
– Attention to detail and high-quality writing, editing and proofreading skills.
– Demonstrated ability to manage a varied workload and produce materials within deadlines.
– Sound computer skills (proficiency in WordPress and Adobe Creative suite a plus).
– Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication, and ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders to achieve high-quality communications and promotional outcomes.
– Demonstrated sound judgement and ability to work within and apply communications and branding guidelines and policies appropriately, including implementing and adapting to policy changes.
Desired
– Proven experience in delivering successful communications and promotional (traditional and social) campaigns on behalf of clients.
– Experience with website administration, design, and development.
