Project Overview and Role:

The Pacific Labour Facility (PLF) facilitates seasonal and longer-term work opportunities for Pacific workers in Australia. It connects Australian employers with Pacific workers, supports the administration of the Pacific Labour Scheme (PLS) and provides targeted support to the Seasonal Worker Programme (SWP).

The HR & Recruitment Coordinator provides transactional and operational support throughout the employee lifecycle in its entirety and assists the HR & Recruitment Manager to deliver people solutions that are aligned to the project objectives. 

Based in central location in Brisbane CBD, our team also enjoys the flexibility of working from home 2 days per week.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

The HR Coordinator will:

  • Be the first point of contact for all HR/Recruitment queries from both external and internal stakeholders
  • Provide Recruitment administration and assistance to hiring managers
  • Provide advice to employees and managers on HR policies and procedures and other HR initiatives
  • Coordinate the annual Staff Performance Assessment process
  • Support the quality and compliance of staff on-boarding, staff performance management, leave management, compensation and benefit arrangement and off-boarding process
  • Administer the probation review process for all new employees – regularly following up with line managers to ensure completion of reviews
  • Assist with internal training for PLF staff across all mandatory Palladium training courses and monitor completion progress across the project.


Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant HR or business-related qualification
  • Relevant work experience as a Human Resources Coordinator or Administrator and an understanding of the importance of confidentiality
  • Considerable experience with HRIS (HR Compass & Cornerstone experience highly regarded);
  • Excellent ability to organize, prioritise and analyse data with excellent attention to detail whilst maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

The HR & Recruitment Coordinator position is classified at A1 under the DFAT Aid Adviser Remuneration Framework (ARF).

The successful candidate will be offered an initial contract to 30 June 2023.
