About the Knowledge Hub

ALMA is developing a knowledge Hub to share scorecard management best practices in collaboration with countries and partners. The Hub will support the transparent sharing of scorecards, toolkits, policy briefs, best practices, lessons learned, and training guides, and will offer countries a central ‘helpdesk’ mechanism to direct technical assistance.

Overview of role

The ALMA Knowledge Hub Content Officer will be responsible for producing and curating relevant content for the Knowledge Hub (including best practices, partners’ publications, training materials, videos etc.). A key role will be to work with the ALMA team to support countries create engaging content documenting best practices of scorecard management, suggesting creative solutions to display and signpost content and promoting it through the Hub platform.

The Hub Content Officer will also be responsible for supporting the development of a community of practice for Scorecard practioners by managing forums / social media,  actively sharing updates and news, organising webinars and managing the experts Helpdesk by redirecting queries to experts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Knowledge Hub Manager and ALMA Team with the development of the Hub platform, by supporting the organisation of the consultation process for design, structure, content and use of the knowledge hub and preparing papers for the steering committee
  • Develop new knowledge products (e.g. best practices one pagers, toolkits, videos and other material relevant for scorecard etc.)
  • Curate content from partners, and work to build increased collaboration and partnerships for evidence and learning (eg with Public Health Institutes)
  • Work with relevant team members to support the development of knowledge products
  • Support documentation missions in country, which may include interviewing key stakeholders and documenting impact of the scorecard and provide oversight and guidance to consultants, where applicable
  • Use analytics tool to track users’ engagement and increase reach of content
  • Process country requests for technical assistance through the knowledge hub
  • Support other catalytic activities identified by the ALMA team, as appropriate

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Fluency in English & Excellent writing skills
  • Fluency in MS Office
  • Experience of knowledge management in the health, development and/or humanitarian sector of including the development of knowledge management products and systems
  • MA/MEd or MSc in a relevant subject OR relevant work experience
  • Excellent communicator who leads in building relationships with key external/internal contacts
  • Competent to work with significant levels of autonomy in a virtual team 

Desirable:

  • Fluency in French (written and verbal)
  • Experience developing guidelines and/or research pieces
  • Experience working in Africa

Reporting: Officer will report to the Knowledge Hub Manager

Compensation: Competitive, dependent on experience
