The London School of Hygiene &Tropical Medicine is a world-leading centre for research and postgraduate education in public and global health. We are seeking to make an appointment of a Research Fellow in Health Services Research and Policy who will work in the national Policy Research Unit in Health and Social Care Systems and Commissioning (PRUComm), conducting a range of research projects into the organisation of health and social care in England with the rest of the team.  The post-holder will be required to engage with a range of disciplinary perspectives, to be familiar with relevant theories and qualitative research methods; and to manage their own academic research, research governance and administrative activities and co-ordinate work to meet deadlines.

There is an expectation that the post-holder will contribute as
required to the wider academic activities of the Faculty of Public Health and
Policy (to include teaching, student mentoring or supervision, and assessment)
and to participate in appropriate training and quality assurance processes for
such roles.

Applicants should have a
postgraduate degree in a relevant field i.e. a social science subject or
economics, or equivalent research experience; experience of conducting and
publishing qualitative research; demonstrated knowledge of the health and
social care context in England; good working knowledge of research processes,
regulatory requirements and NHS governance and ethical procedures and good
written and spoken communication skills.

The post holder will be
based in London. The post is available on a full-time basis and is funded until
31 January 2023.  Salary will be on the
LSHTM Academic Pathway Scale at Grade 6, £40,011-£45,437 per annum (inclusive
of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and
conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year. In
addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the
Pension Scheme is available.
