Project Overview and Role:

The position will be on the upcoming Georgia Financial Innovation Program (FIP), a 5-Year USAID-funded activity with the potential following components: (a) support for the development of financial market infrastructure and intermediary institutions; (b) support for the development of diversified financial products and services; (c) support to stimulate the local market for private equity, quasi-equity, and blended finance instruments; (d) support to improve the capacity of businesses to access fit-for-purpose financing; and (e) incorporation of innovative financial technology (FinTech) into the local financial markets ecosystem.

The Component Lead – Innovative Financial Products will support?achievement of project component 2?of?the?USAID-funded Georgia Financial Innovation Program.?S/he will report directly to the Deputy Chief of Party.

Location: Tbilisi, Georgia 

 Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

The Component Lead – Innovative Financial Products will be responsible for the following:  
– Define Georgia FIP’s strategy to deliver innovative, alternative financial products/services to the private sector 
– Provide technical leadership to increase access to tailored financial products and stimulate the local market for private equity and blended finance instruments. This may include overseeing the provision of technical assistance to financial services providers (banks and non-bank intermediaries) to enhance their products and services, and private equity funds to help them mobilize capital from local and international financial institutions and investors 
– Represent Georgia FIP in meetings with public and private sector actors including GOG, non-governmental organizations, business associations, among others 
– Supervise implementing partners, sub-contractors, and grantees as they undertake tasks relating to component 2 
– Lead work planning and monitor the budget tied to component 2 
– Traveling around to various regions of Georgia (and potentially outside) as needed 
– Any and all other project-related tasks as required by the Project Director in Palladium HQ
 

Required Qualifications:

– Advanced knowledge of the financial sector in Georgia, including key stakeholders and existing products and services 
– Robust networks within the Georgian financial sector 
– Proven track record working with various financial institutions and private equity funds to enhance their products and services, and to increase enterprises’ private equity funds’ access to capital from local and international institutions and investors 
– Experience?working?on?USAID or other donor-funded programs of a similar size? 
– Excellent communications, organizational, and?interpersonal skills? 
– Written and oral proficiency in?English and Georgian required? 
– Knowledge of USAID policies, procedures, and reporting requirements?preferred? 
– Experience working for large donor organizations such as USAID preferred?
