Project Overview and Role:
USAID’s ProtectHealth project, led by Palladium and in collaboration with other USAID implementing partners, is supporting the Government of the Philippines (GPH) to enhance access and financing to meet key family planning (FP), tuberculosis (TB) and HIV/AIDS outcomes while realizing its goal of achieving universal health care (UHC). USAID’s ProtectHealth is specifically supporting the GPH’s implementation of the UHC Law by addressing policy and institutional bottlenecks within the health financing system.
The project provides technical assistance (TA) to enable the GPH to rapidly and effectively enact reforms envisioned under the new legislation on UHC. Specifically, USAID’s ProtectHealth helps enable the implementation of key reforms to sustain financing of TB, FP and HIV services, improve the utilization of such benefits and increase financial protection by providing the best available evidence and convening decision-makers at critical points in the policy process.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Scope of Work
To ensure clear and quality delivery of technical products, the Layout/Graphic Artist will provide timely and appropriate support to the Communication Specialist in developing and packaging technical documents, and reports, as well as information, education and communication (IEC) materials to be disseminated to various internal and external audience. The Layout/Graphics Artist is expected to coordinate appropriately with the Communication Specialist in the application of graphics design, and adherence to the Branding and Marking Plan.
Duties and Responsibilities

Plans and conceptualizes illustrations, graphic designs, and layout based on the materials gathered, and adhere to branding guidelines.
Be able to develop effective infographics, slide decks, figures, graphs, and other visual materials to accurately convey key messages for technical products, working closely with the Communications Specialist to ensure that core messages are captured and delivered.
Coordinates with the Communication Specialist, and relevant project teams in consolidating inputs needed in the development of graphic materials.
Be able to incorporate revisions to design and layout in a timely manner, based on the feedback from the relevant teams.

Required Qualifications:
Education:
Relevant training in Communications or Multimedia Arts required. University degree an advantage.
Experience:
At least three years of work experience in graphic design, applications of art and new media technologies, digital art, computer graphics and illustration, and related creative works.
Experience working in USAID projects, and development work particularly in Communications highly desired.
Knowledge:
Strong knowledge and skills in graphic design, and multimedia arts.
Understanding and knowledge of technical products to be able to develop and extract core message for graphic design.
Familiarity, understanding of the content on social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin
Skills and abilities:
Excellent oral and written communications skills, and experience in the application of multimedia arts in various communication products.
Must be able to work independently, taking the initiative once guidance is provided, must be able to provide quality work, even under pressure.
Proficiency with software, such as the page-layout systems Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
