EnCompass LLC is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to provide administrative support for our Finance team with accounts payable, receivable, and other administrative functions in order to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.
The position is remote, office based in Rockville, MD. Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
Essential functions:
Support the Account Receivable (AR) function to ensure the timely creation of invoices to clients upon product delivery or project completion
Liaise with contract and project teams to ensure billing requirements are updated in accounting software
Reconcile accounts receivable to the general ledger
Track and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable payments
Assist AR Manager with monthly invoices, collections, and other AR duties
Review and track accounts receivable requirements and due dates for all contracts
Track project expenditures against budget line items
Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion
Assist Accounts Payable (AP) team with various duties/assignments to include tasks like:
Resolve invoice and payment discrepancies and prepare documentation for files
Assist in corporate credit card reconciliation and ensure correct accounting codes and submission of required documentation for all transactions
Provide some administrative support to Payroll and HR
Provide excellent customer service and problem resolution for both internal and external partners
Engage fully as a member of the EnCompass staff team, including participating in staff meetings and other EnCompass events

Position Requirements
Qualifications
Academic Qualifications
High School Diploma and 7 years of experience; Associate’s degree and 5 years of experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of experience
Experience and Skills
Minimum of one year experience working in an accounting setting
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to multi-task and handle a fast-paced work environment
Demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate
Strong attention to detail and conscientious in adhering to deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with a wide variety of non-financial stakeholders
Strong analytical skills and proficient in MS Office and Excel
Knowledge of US Government contracts is a plus but not required
Familiar with government accounting software is a plus
