Based remotely, you’ll be guided by and receive support from the Senior Global Health Advisor . For 3 months you’ll intern approximately 15-20 hours per week. This is a paid internship position.
The Team
The Intra-action review team will consist of various members of Alight’s global team. This may include Health, WASH, Protection, MEAL, HR and logistic team members. We are proud to work on borderless teams. We bring on great people from a wide variety of backgrounds and specifically encourage members of refugee, immigrant, or other displaced communities to join us.
The Role
Simply put, you will assist the Global Support Team with conducting an Intra Action Review (IAR) of Alights global COVID-19 response. The overall goal of this project is to improve preparedness while providing a foundation for learning. This exercise will help Alight identify strengths, shortcomings, recognize good practices, and improve upon Alight’s approaches to emergency response at a global organizational level in a way that we can apply these lessons to future large-scale humanitarian crises and pandemics.
The purpose of the IAR is threefold:
to provide an opportunity to share experiences and collectively analyze global and country specific responses to COVID-19 by identifying challenges and best practices;
to facilitate consensus building among and the compiling of lessons learned by various stakeholders during the response to improve the current and future responses by sustaining best practices that have demonstrated success and by preventing recurrent errors;
to develop an action plan to strengthen Alights strategic preparedness and response plan to COVID-19 and future outbreaks.
Here are some of the specifics of your activities:
Support with all steps of the IAR process, including planning, preparing, conducting surveys and interviews, and analyzing data and information
Support with scheduling, interpretation, and transportation for all new arrivals to establish care with a Primary Care Provider and follow up as necessary
Attend and support IAR team meetings – including scheduling and note-taking.
Desk/literature review, as needed
Collaborate with IAR team to develop the methodology, including surveys and key informant interviews
Assist with conducting key informant interviews with country teams and compiling results and findings.
Support with analyzing the data and developing an IAR report, presentation of findings and action planning.
Participate in any presentations of the final results

Skills and experience we’re seeking
Pursuing a master’s degree in public health or health- related subject
Experience with online platforms for developing surveys and analyzing data
Experience responding to COVID-19 (not required)
Strong intercultural communication skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from other cultural backgrounds
Excellent written communication skills and strong organizational skills and attention to detail
You work well with a lot of freedom and do you best work in a culture that does the doable with whatever resources we have.
You have an optimistic core and are joyful to the people you serve and work beside.
