Gender-Based Violence Prevention Team Lead
Project Overview and Role:
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) plans to establish a five-year project to reduce the negative social and economic impacts of gender-based violence (GBV) in targeted areas of Guatemala, contributing to longer-term stability of the country.

The project will work towards the reduction of GBV including prevention, response, and the provision and decentralization of essential services to victims. This activity will include the economic empowerment of survivors to support their financial literacy and independence to support their journeys to peaceful and productive lives in collaboration with local stakeholders.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Prevention Team Lead plays a key role in leading and shaping Component 1 of the Activity, focused on increasing prevention of GBV at the community, municipal, and national levels in Guatemala. The Team Lead will oversee a collaborative group of Palladium and partner positions dedicated to community mobilization, women’s rights, social behavior change, communications, and rule of law. They will be responsible for shaping the component’s strategy towards designated goals and adding to the Activity’s wider learning agenda.
This is a full-time position based in Guatemala City, Guatemala and contingent upon contract award. Guatemalan nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.
The GBV Prevention Team Lead will be responsible for:
-Overseeing and ensuring appropriate implementation of program strategy for their component and in the aim of achieving the intermediate results.
-Collaborate with other Component leads to ensure a holistic and integrated approach the GBV prevention and response that includes all relevant stakeholders
-Understanding and analyzing national, regional, and local political and social dynamics and guiding program staff in creatively designing activities that relate to and are appropriate for the current environment.
-Working with the Chief of Party, Deputy Chief of Party, and other staff to improve implementation processes throughout the program.
-Identifying program opportunities and potential local partners.
-Supervise Component staff and liaise as necessary with regional offices, other program staff, procurement staff, and grants manager.

Required Qualifications:
-At least six years of experience in international settings conducting development work with increasing responsibility, at least three years of which is in gender-based violence prevention, youth development, institutional capacity strengthening, or migration.
-Bachelor’s degree in public policy, public administration, law, international development, social sciences, or a related discipline is required.
-Experience managing programs in Guatemala or similar development contexts.
-Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and manage challenging and complex projects that engage a variety of community and government stakeholders.
-Demonstrated ability to work with at-risk youth, GBV survivors, local indigenous populations, and other vulnerable groups.
-Fluent in English and Spanish (reading/writing/speaking). Proficiency in Mayan, Garífuna and/or Xinca languages encouraged.
