Interns at URC
The summer internship program at URC is designed to develop highly motivated, engaged learners, and diverse emerging talent make an impact in international development. Internship opportunities are available with multiple teams at URC including Global Security, the Center for Technical Excellence, Operations & Compliance and the HEARD project. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to engage with URC colleagues and benefit from an engaging learning environment.
This is a remote, paid internship opportunity. Though eligible for remote work, the intern may work from the Chevy Chase, MD office.
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
Gain knowledge about the international development industry
Gain practical experience in a professional workplace
Build a network of professional connections
Develop professional communication skills
Anticipated Duration: Around 6 months (no more than 1,000 hours)
Intern, Compliance responsibilities:
Review and edit compliance projects such as training materials and presentations
Support the Chief Operations & Compliance Officer in the roll out of the COI protocols
Assist in updating the Ethics Point management system and filing Ethics Point compliance documents
Assist in compliance tasks such as arranging interviews and writing interview notes
Minimum Qualifications:
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
Strong organizational skills
Excellent writing/editing skills
Professional and diplomatic communication skills
Professional proficiency in written and spoken English
Ability to prepare presentations and reports
Physical Demands
This assignment involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
This position may require vision, hearing, talking, standing, sitting, walking, lifting.
