The Task Force for Global Health is an Emory University affiliate
located in Decatur, GA. Its fifteen programs focus on building robust public health
systems that serve all people. Program areas include neglected tropical diseases,
vaccines, and health systems strengthening. The Task Force for Global Health was
recognized for its extraordinary contributions to alleviating human suffering with the 2016
Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize, the world’s largest award of its kind. The Task
Force is ranked among the largest nonprofits in the United States due to in-kind
contributions of medicines and vaccines from major pharmaceutical companies valued at
billions of dollars annually.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Neglected Tropical Diseases Support Center(NTD-SC) supports operational research on shared issues confronting 5 diseases using funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, USAID, and UK aid. The NTD-SC is the Secretariat for the multi-institutional Coalition for Operational Research on Neglected Tropical Diseases (COR NTD) coordinated by the NTD-SC targeting the special challenges of national NTD programs.
The Program Assistant will ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the COR-NTD/NTDSC program and will play a vital role supporting our collaborative work by supporting the planning and execution of the COR-NTD program, NTDSC meetings and Research Links Sessions as follows:
Provides technical support to the COR-NTD/NTDSC program to include
Providing technical assistance with multiple and diverse event software systems.
Provides presentations and conducts training for team members on essential meeting tools.
Compiles and synthesizes various COR-NTD data for reporting purposes.
Develops and distributes relevant surveys.
Research new technologies and strategies to improve team effectiveness.
Assists with the technical aspects of the Atlanta Area NTD Meeting.
Provides technical expertise with the registration website.
Provides communications support for COR-NTD/NTDSC program logistics for conferences and events, to include:
Facilitates pre- and post-meeting logistics communications to participants.
Provides presentations and conducts training for team members and participants on essential meeting tools.
Writes scripts for the production of the COR-NTD Meeting.
Assists with communications with event participants.
Facilitates communications to innovators.
Schedules and facilitates tech-related meetings and conference calls with vendors.
Provides operational and logistical support to the COR-NTD/NTDSC program including, but not limited to:
Completes meeting deliverables in accordance with COR-NTD meeting timeline.
Updates work plans and timelines as needed.
Compiles and synthesizes various COR-NTD data for reporting purposes.
Assists in the design of presentations, banners, and signage for meeting use.
Assist in the development of the event registration website.
Assists in the clean-up and update of smartsheets.
Responsible for the development, review and execution of the “Photo Gallery”, including, but not limited to, receiving, and reviewing submissions, responding with submitters and creating slides for the gallery.
Ensures the registration site and mobile application are synced.
Prepare and present survey data to the NTD Support Center Team and Donors.
Aid with Technical Meetings and/or Research Links Series, to include:
Facilitates pre- and post-meeting logistical communications to participants, including scheduling Zoom meetings, invitation emails, etc.
Creates presentations and conducts training for NTD-SC team members and speakers on meeting tools (i.e., Zoom, Jamboard, EasyRetro, etc.)
Assists NTD-SC session lead with communication to session speakers to gather presentations and consent forms.
Assists with the run of show and provides technical support during the session.
Develops and distributes relevant surveys and provides analyzed results to session lead.
Other Responsibilities:
Participates fully as a member of the Task Force for Global Health by contributing, assisting and participating in projects, activities, and initiatives as requested by management
Travel: Less than 5 % domestic and/or international travel
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Proficiency with various personal computer software applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Exerience with CVENT platforms, Survey Monkey, Zoom and Smartsheet project management tool
Detail oriented; excellent written and verbal communication, especially in cross-cultural settings
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Gmail.
Demonstrated ability to follow established business processes to ensure efficient completion of work.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently or as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize tasks to ensure completion by deadlines.
Prior domestic and international meeting logistics experience.
Experience with domestic and international government funded public health projects.
Job Description:
Provides administrative and logistical support for projects, initiatives, and programs within an NGO environment.
Assists assigned managers and team members by maintaining calendars, receiving and composing communications as correspondence, and replies to inquiries.
Handles preparations, scheduling, logistics, and other various requirements for domestic and international travel.
Drafts contracts, budgets, and donor reports with direction from manager.
Processes financial documents including contracts, expense reports, invoices, etc.
Writes routine reports and correspondence, and assists with the development of project/program materials.
Organizes meetings and events.
Works with and maintains data management and filing for projects/program.
Serves as an administrator of work product with other programs/departments, i.e. finance, program development, public information, etc.
Liaises and communicates with project consultants and field office staff, providing logistical and administrative support, as directed.
Conducts research and provides support to one or more staff members in regards to project and programmatic efforts.
May supervise work study students and volunteers. Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree, or a high school diploma or equivalent and five years of administrative experience.
Proficiency with various personal computer software applications.
