Project Overview & Position:

Palladium is seeking technical advisors for two upcoming health opportunities in Malawi aimed at increasing access to and use of quality healthcare services, improving the performance of the health system at subnational levels in priority districts, and strengthening capacity of government and non-government partners.

Technical Advisors will be responsible for technical contributions in any of the following areas:
MNCH, FP/RH
Community Engagement, Capacity Strengthening
Human Resources for Health (HRH), Quality Improvement (QI)
Digital Health/Informatics, Youth Gender, Health systems strengthening, Knowledge management

Advisor. These positions will support efforts to ensure that the Malawi project meets service delivery goals, quality standards, and reporting requirements.

This position will be based in Lilongwe and is contingent upon contract award to Palladium. Local nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.

Reporting and Supervision:

Key Responsibilities:
Technical expert will provide overall technical contributions in one or more of the technical areas mentioned above.
This position will also assist coordination among USAID, donors, other development partners, and numerous – -Government of Malawi institutions and representatives, particularly at the district level for integrated health service delivery activities.
Assist overall technical guidance and direction to ensure that work plans and activity tasks are technically compliant with USAID, GOM, and internally recognized standards and protocols.
Develop concept notes in design stage of activity, and routinely report progress, successes, and lessons learned.
Contribute to project monitoring and financial reporting.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Candidate Requirements:
Advanced degree in related field.
7-10 years of experience in relevant technical area in a similar context.
Previous experience working in Malawi as an advisor or staff member on a health project; experience with USAID projects preferred.
Experience and expertise in above-mentioned technical areas.
Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders in the public and private sector, other donors, academia, and other key stakeholders.
Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English, and the ability to make technical public presentations.
Ability to work and represent the project independently, but a commitment to collaboration with other project staff to further integrated programming.
Professional Expertise/Competencies Preferred:
Nationals of Malawi are strongly encouraged to apply.
Existing relationships with Malawi stakeholders, including government counterparts a plus.
Knowledge of international and evidence-based practices and tools in their respective technical areas, and experience adapting them to the Malawian context.
