Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Palladium Impact Capital has an opening for an Associate Director, in London, experienced in leading transactions in the financial services, energy, land use and/or sustainable agriculture sectors.
The Associate Director will lead advisory mandates, both in origination and execution, he/she will contribute to the general building of the franchise, strengthening of the practice infrastructure and systems, and will be expected to lead the delivery of a wide range of client-facing engagements, which will include equity, debt capital structuring, capital raising mandates at the company and fund level, M&A mandates and transaction-related services.

The primary responsibilities of the Associate Director are:
Client mandate execution:
• Overall project management
o Setting and managing the project/transaction timetable
o Client relationship management and the day-to-day point of contact with clients
o Managing the project team and ensuring quality on all client deliverables
o Managing transaction cost in relation to a budget and monitoring invoicing and collections in respect of fees and expenses
• Mandate execution in all phases, from design and structuring, marketing, negotiation to closing transactions
o Managing investor lists, outreach, tracking feedback and driving investor meetings
o Drafting presentation materials, logistics management and issue identification/ resolution
o Overseeing the preparation of Information Memoranda, financial models and data room
o Liaising with and advising clients on transaction strategy including tactics, deal structuring, negotiation strategy and providing insight on specific strategic issues
o Managing term sheet and documentation negotiation through to transaction closing
o Managing the engagement team and external parties such as legal counsel
Business development and practice building:
• Business building
o Sourcing prospective client relationships and cultivating investor networks, both directly and through relationships within the Palladium Group
o Participating in, and leading, on-going internal coordination and planning meetings
o Building marketing materials, creating proposals/ pitch documents
o Developing thought leadership on impact investing themes, product innovation and transaction design
o Representing the company at industry conferences and convenings
• Practice building
o Improving internal materials, processes and tools that support growth of the practice
o Contributing to the knowledge and relationship base of the team
o Taking responsibility for one or more internal team functions (e.g. training, people development, compliance, finances)
Required Qualifications:
• Relevant academic qualifications or relevant previous experience (if no relevant educational qualifications are available) in corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, venture capital or related fields.
• Prior experience in a corporate finance advisory capacity, including hands-on transaction experience involving one or more of the following key sectors: financial inclusion, energy, sustainable agriculture and/or land use.
• Ability to speak and write in English fluently.
• Demonstrable understanding of financial modelling and the ability to structure, organise and present datasets in Excel.
• Proficient in using PowerPoint, including: Developing custom slides for client and internal presentations, creating templates, graphs, and charts.
• Proficient in using Word, including: Word formatting features for page set up, use design elements such as Word’s drawing tools, text boxes, graphics, formatting text boxes and word art.
