Position Title: Cross Site Mental Health Intern
Reports to : Cross-Site Mental Health Program Coordinator
Location: Boston, Remote
General Responsibilities : The Partners In Health ( PIH ) Cross Site Mental Health Intern will be responsible for supporting aspects of the PIH Cross- Site Mental Health team’s work, specifically in the areas of communications, writing, training, monitoring & evaluation, graphic design, and/or data visualization . The ideal candidate for this position will have an interest or background in the field of global mental health, strong administrative or project management skills, the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while producing high quality work, and will be comfortable working with, collaborating, and coordinating with culturally diverse colleagues. Experience living and / or working in resource-limited settings is preferred. Ideally, we would like to find a n intern who can stay with the team through December 2022, with a minimum commitment of at least 6 months . The intern will report to the Cross-Site Mental Health Program Coordinator .
Responsibilities may include :
Assisting with communications projects including maintaining various mental health program materials and webpages, and editing materials as needed.
Supporting the update of a mental health service implementation package , including project planning, graphic design, training and curriculum, and/or writing as needed.
Assisting with existing monitoring, evaluation, and quality improvement projects of the PIH Mental Health team, with a particular focus on visualizations and documenting impact.
Supporting training and curriculum development projects with various PIH sites
Supporting with content development and dissemination for donor deliverables.
Participating in weekly Mental Health team meetings and cross-site learning seminars.
Availability to commit at least 10 -15 hours/week .
Qualifications :
Students with an interest in mental health, global health pursuing Associate, Bachelors, or Masters degrees or professionals with 1-3 years’ relevant experience in the field will be considered.
Passionate about community building, sustainability and instilling a community-based approach to global mental health. Formal experience with public mental health services, program management, communications, data visualization is seen as an asset.
Formal experience with PowerBI , Adobe Creative Cloud , and/or Esri ArcGIS/ StoryMaps is strongly desirable.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and team collaboration platforms. Must have access to a consistent internet connection. Laptop will be provided .
Knowledge of Spanish considered an asset, but not necessary.
Ability to prioritize and take initiative on multiple and complicated tasks. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Ability to collaborate effectively and contribute in a team setting. Exemplary interpersonal skills and a bility to build relationships with a wide variety of constituents, culturally diverse staff across departments and countries.
Ab ility to take initiative and work independently while working remotely.
P atience, a positive attitude, and flexibility a must.
