Panagora Group seeks a Gender and Social Inclusion Director as part of the anticipated Prevention of Malaria through the Vector Control program. The Director will assume a leadership function in mainstreaming/strengthening gender, social, and other special population groups inclusion strategies within the design and implementation of activities that support entomological monitoring, indoor residual spraying (IRS), and insecticide-treated mosquito net (ITN) programs and other proven, life-saving malaria vector control interventions with the overall goal of reducing the burden of malaria and accelerating progress towards elimination.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership and oversight to strengthen and mainstream gender, social, and inclusive development considerations to prevent malaria through vector control.
Support National Malaria Control Programs (NMCPs) and other frontline malaria vector control implementing partners to implement innovative solutions for strengthening gender and social inclusion institutional practices.
Design research to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of innovative gender and social inclusion strategies for malaria vector control strengthening activities.
Collaborate and develop strategic frameworks for integrating gender and social inclusion best practices and solutions within National Malaria Control Programs (NMCPs) and frontline Malaria vector control implementation partners.
Lead and contribute to national malaria vector control-oriented gender and social barrier analyses to inform the design of capacity-building activities.
Identify opportunities to include women, young people, and special population groups and better integrate a gender lens into malaria control activities
Work closely with NMCPs and other stakeholders to outline activities, meet outcomes, assessments, and results, and successfully strengthen gender activities.
Contribute to thought leadership and outreach to influence and shape gender and social activities gender in malaria control and prevention activities.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Public Health, Gender Studies, Business Administration, Anthropology/Sociology, International Development, or other relevant fields.
At least ten years of professional experience in global health or international development.
Experience with health systems strengthening, Malaria, MNCH, and HIV/AIDS programming preferred.
Extensive practical experience effectively leading gender-sensitive projects and programs.
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing effective projects that reduce gender and other social disparities and empower women, girls, and members of traditionally disadvantaged groups, including project design and implementation, policy design, and training interventions and tools.
