Panagora Group seeks a Private Sector Engagement Director as part of the anticipated USAID Prevention of Malaria through the Vector Control program. The Director will assume a leadership function in promoting private sector engagement innovations and strategies within the implementation of activities that will support entomological monitoring, indoor residual spraying (IRS), insecticide-treated mosquito net (ITN) programs, and other proven, life-saving malaria vector control interventions with the overall goal of reducing the burden of malaria and accelerating progress towards elimination.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies to increase local and international private sector engagement for malaria vector implementation activities.
Conduct situational analyses of opportunities to leverage private sector capabilities for global health functions to enhance malaria elimination efforts, improve quality care and efficiencies, and cultivate and establish strategic partnerships.
Develop recommendations and strategies to establish a private sector engagement plan, integrating gender lens and inclusive business approaches, to help achieve key project goals integrating with local partner capacity-building strategies.
Lead ongoing implementation of private sector engagement initiatives and related local capacity building initiatives, including fostering partnerships with the private sector to share expertise and lessons learned across public-private partnerships and corporate social responsibility investments.
Provide active technical support and guidance to public and private sector entities according to activity goals and objectives, especially regarding gender and social inclusion.
Support the development of market incentives or market-shaping interventions to accelerate rapid deployment, increase efficiencies, and sustainable the uptake of last-mile interventions.
Strengthen National Malaria Control Programs (NMCPs) capacity to identify and build critical relationships with companies, investment firms, foundations, and other stakeholders to advance sustainable malaria vector control interventions.
Cultivate, build, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to strengthen private sector engagement and guidance on opportunities.
Prepare presentations, reports, and other analyses to inform private sector engagement strategy and policy recommendations and increase the evidence base for high-impact interventions.
Support the CLA/KMC team to ensure increased engagement with the private sector and stakeholders in sharing and learning from new approaches and highlighting project achievements.
Requirements
Master’s degree in business administration, public health, international development, or related relevant field
At least ten years of demonstrated capacity and experience designing, implementing and managing private sector engagement activities, including working with public and private healthcare providers, associations, and private entities
At least five years of experience leading diverse technical teams in private sector engagement initiatives, both onsite and remotely.
Experience collaborating with host country institutions, multi-sector stakeholders, private sector, other public sector organizations, and local partners
Experience with the private health sector and with PSE development related to global health functions and operations
Demonstrated experience developing and executing public-private partnerships
Strong communication, facilitation, and teamwork skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency in the language(s) other than English preferred
