Position Summary:
The Policy & Advocacy Intern will support policy and advocacy activities for the Vaccine Acceptance & Demand team and for Sabin overall.
Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed research on advocacy trends
Attend and take notes during relevant global health and policy-related meetings and briefings (i.e., advocacy coalition working groups/meetings/webinars) to share updates with Sabin staff
Assist with the development of creative, effective global health policy advocacy strategies and tactics to promote Sabin’s U.S. and global policy agenda
Monitor advocacy and policy trends to identify opportunities in line with the Sabin Vaccine Acceptance and Demand policy objectives. Share findings with Sabin VAD team on a monthly basis.
Conduct research and support the development of key policy materials, including white papers, briefs, memos, reports and opinion pieces for the international community, which advance Sabin’s mission and program goal
Assist team members in planning and implementing policy/advocacy-related remote and in-person meetings, events and webinars
Overall operations support as well as support for projects with the Sabin VAD team as needed
Requirements:
Current undergraduate or graduate student in a related discipline
Interest in policy, global health or a related field
Strong written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated computer proficiency, including Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Word), Adobe Acrobat, Zoom video conferencing and conducting internet searches
Strong organizational skills, ability to process information quickly and work independently
Detail-oriented and highly flexible
Analytical and research skills
Available for 10-29.5 hours per week during Summer 2022
