Position Overview:
The Private Sector Engagement Advisor for the In-Country Logistics project will be responsible for designing and implementing market-based and capacity building strategies to transform local logistics ecosystems.. To accomplish this, they will oversee the assessments of local markets, identify activities that address key constraints and opportunities for private sector stakeholders at the macro and micro levels, and manage strategies that bolster LLSP capacity and performance so that countries move toward self-reliance. They will remain abreast of challenges facing the private sector that may impact country teams, from political upheaval to issues around accessibility, and manage efficient logistical coordination for the project on a global scale.
Location: Washington, D.C.
Roles and Responsibilities:
-Lead the projects market assessment framework strategy and implementation.
-Work with field office staff to conduct baseline and ongoing maturity modeling of private sector logistics service providers within national supply chains.
-Support field office staff in the development of activities designed to increase utilization of local logistics providers within health commodity supply chains.
-Aid the development of private sector capacity and performance in project operating areas.
-Contribute to the development of a strategy for creating and maintaining private sector relationships and private-public sector communication and coordination.
-Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Position Requirements:
-Extensive experience in international development working with USG donors, particularly USAID, is required.
-Strong organizational skills and logistical thinking.
-Previous experience in senior-level project management with global supply chain projects.
-Knowledge of UN, Global Fund, WHO, and health-related programs preferred.
-Experience collaborating with project and country offices.
-Strong English communication (written and spoken) and ability to communicate across technical disciplines and non-technical audience required. Proficiency in additional international languages (particularly French and Spanish) an advantage.
-Extensive experience working in and with the private sector and private sector institutions both in the US and internationally. Knowledge of and interest in public-private relations a must.
