PSI seeks a Senior Associate, Communications that will support the development of communications and advocacy strategies while leading the execution of strategic communications and advocacy activities. This position will be embedded in and report to A360 – PSI’s flagship adolescent sexual and reproductive health project — with a dotted line to PSI’s External Communications department.
With funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, A360 has partnered with young people and government health systems to design, pilot, and scale adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) interventions which position contraception as a tool to achieving girls’ self-defined goals. It operates across Ethiopia, Kenya, and Nigeria. In late 2020, A360 embarked on an ambitious new 5 year follow on which is focused on: i) strengthening the existing interventions; ii) supporting host government to adopt A360’s approaches; and iii) generating evidence, learning and global goods to support the adoption and replication of A360-inspired approaches by others.

The candidate we hire will embody PSI’s corporate values:
Measurement: You use hard evidence to make decisions and guide your work. You set clear goalposts in advance and explain clearly if you need to move them.
Pragmatism: You’ll strive to deliver the best possible result with the resources available. You won’t be paralyzed by a need to make things perfect.
Honesty: You own your mistakes and are open about your shortcomings – it’s the only way you’ll learn and improve.
Collaboration: You’ll quickly establish a mental map of whom you can rely on for what, on your team, at headquarters, and in our country offices – if you try to do it all yourself, you won’t succeed.
Trust: You accept limits to your sphere of control and give colleagues the benefit of the doubt. Commitment: You are in it for the long-haul and want to grow with the organization, just like PSI serves its consumers and partners with host-country governments through thick and thin.
