About the Role:
The Warehouse Storeperson will specifically be assigned to Warehouse Management Services Service Order within our Humanitarian Logistics Capability (HLC). HLC provides high quality, multifaceted, flexible and responsive project management and humanitarian supply chain solutions in support of the Commonwealth of Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Humanitarian Emergency Relief activities.
The role requires a strong candidate with the necessary skills to support the project team to conduct day-to-day warehousing tasks to store, manage, receive and dispatch stock from the company’s Brisbane-based storage facility.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform tasks related to the receipt, issuing/picking and dispatch of stock.
Packing and unpacking of containers, crates, boxes, pallets etc.
Preparing freight for transport.
Checking inbound and outbound shipment manifests for accuracy and quality.
Accurate and timely completion and processing of all warehousing paperwork.
Inventory stock-taking.
Operate mechanical handling equipment, such as forklifts and reach trucks, and warehouse plant as required.
Comply with all industry legislation, regulations and codes across import and export operations to and from Australia and other regions of the world.
Carry out duties in accordance with Palladium’s logistic, contractual, procedural, legislative and safety procedures, and supervisor direction.
Key Competencies Required:
A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in the field of supply chain management, logistics, and/or warehousing.
Relevant High Risk Works licence for operation of mechanical handling equipment (forklift and reach truck).
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and knowledge of IT systems.
Previous experience in Inventory Management Systems (CARGOWISE advantageous) is beneficial.
Ability to undertake industry training were required (RACA, DG, WHS and First Aid.)
Experience with Dangerous Goods certification is beneficial.
Physically capable of conducting manual handling (lifting) and conducting these for extended periods.
Ability to work with a low level of supervision and act as part of a team.
Ability to work overtime and on weekends when necessary to support a humanitarian response.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Sound problem solving, initiative and decision-making skills.
Understanding of logistics, warehousing and supply chain management.
HLC maintains a deployable capability designed to respond to international disasters and employees may be required to travel internationally as part of their role. As such all prospective employees must be eligible to undertake international travel and to work with vulnerable populations. Requirements include mandatory vaccinations for international travel, a satisfactory police check and the ability to maintain a passport.
