About the program
The Australia Awards South Asia & Mongolia (AASAM) program is funded by the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and implemented by Palladium. It is a multi-country program covering Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka through service delivery offices in Colombo, Dhaka, Islamabad, Kathmandu, Thimphu and Ulaanbaatar.
Australia Awards are provided to build the skills and knowledge of individuals so that they can contribute to their country’s development and support the ongoing development of links between Australia and the countries to which it provides aid. Australia Awards are an important part of the Australian Government’s focus on public and economic diplomacy, and provide Scholarships, Short Courses, and other training opportunities.
About the role
The Program Coordinator, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Solutions provides a wide range of development, procurement, coordination, liaison and administration services to enable achievement of objectives for the CPD Solutions portfolio. The portfolio comprises Short Courses and Australian Professional Opportunities (APOs). The Program Coordinator provides a mix of strategic (development, researching best practices) and administrative (coordination, contract management) duties towards the achievement of Program outcomes and per the Statement of Requirements for the Program. The Program Coordinator will be tasked with specific responsibilities including managing operational aspects of the portfolio.
Position reports to: Manager, CPD Solutions
Location: Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, or by negotiation
Contract start date: estimated 8 August 2022 (or earlier if the successful candidate is available)
Contract type: Full-time, fixed term until 30 June 2024
About you
Essential
Demonstrated experience in program and/or project coordination or management and the use of tools to efficiently plan, implement, monitor, report and evaluate activities and finances in accordance with required standards.
Demonstrated excellence in client and stakeholder relationship management using a variety of face to face and online tools.
Representative experience, including speaking at public events involving senior officials from within Australia and across South Asia and Mongolia.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and exercise judgement in decision making.
Demonstrated ability to use initiative and show resilience and flexibility in response to change.
Demonstrated ability to contribute ideas to enhance delivery of short courses and APOs.
Demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines, to multi-task and to solve problems efficiently and effectively.
Understanding, or the ability to quickly develop understanding of the Australian tertiary education landscape.
Ability to review, revise and produce documentation to professional standards.
Desired
Tertiary qualifications in education, international development, international relations, or project management.
Knowledge of the Australian Aid Program and Australia Awards.
Knowledge of the South Asia region and Mongolia and awareness of cultural sensitivities.
