Project Overview and Role:
Palladium is hiring a Senior Associate, Project Financial Management into its Nature Based Solutions (NBS) platform. The Senior Associate will work closely with the NBS Latin America team on the operations management of effective and efficient financial and compliance activities to deliver work in accordance with the Palladium’s policies.
The NBS platform works to restore natural landscapes around the world by demonstrating that restoring nature can outperform damaging it as an economic activity. By supporting the commercialisation of underdeveloped revenue streams such as carbon, biodiversity, wider ecosystem services and non-timber forest products, these ventures and their business models hold the key to unlocking alternative livelihoods for rural communities who may otherwise rely on environmentally damaging land use practices.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the Supervision of the Finance and Operation Manager, the Project Financial Management, Senior Associate will provide support in the areas finance and operations management for the project by ensuring effective operations and efficient use of funds on project activities, in particular, day-to-day support to ensuring compliance of project’s activities with Palladium’s policies and local contractual rules and procedures.
Contribute to the financial planning of the projects start-up and closeout;
Serve as a liaison between corporate services and the team leaders of the projects;
Support efforts to ensure project levels of delegated authority issued are in accordance with Palladium’s Expenditure Approval and Signature Authority Policy and Guidelines and facilitate the process for higher-level approvals as required;
Support establishing project charge codes, ensuring they are fit for purpose and meet project’s requirements for cost allocation;
Prepare commercial budget proposals;
Lead development of project budgets;
Support ensuring the project financial calendar is adhered to;
Lead monthly monitoring of all expenditures against budgets and monthly project forecasting;
Ensure that all payments (field vouchers) are considered on the Project’s transaction listings;
Cultivate a higher-level view of project finances and work towards continuous improvement on forecast accuracy;
Support preparation of any contract change requests (i.e., travel, personnel additions/changes, partner, grant, budget realignment, etc.);
Ensure that all project’s information are up-to-date into the Palladium’s systems (Cobra, Nemo, Project Registry. Issues and Risk Registry, etc);
Complete other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, accounting, or other relevant fields;
Experience working with large budgets, program management, grant-making, business, finance, accounting, or other related fields;
Effective communication and excellent interpersonal skills;
Excellent English and Portuguese verbal and written communication skills;
High level of computer literacy and strong experience with Microsoft Office products;
Ability to deal appropriately with sensitive issues and maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times;
Financial acumen and the ability to interpret and analyze financial reports;
Sound problem solving and decision-making skills;
Excellent interpersonal skills to relate to counterparts on all levels of hierarchy.

Contracting regime: CLT
