Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Team Leader – Sustainable Finance & Markets is a new role that will support, and at time manages streams of work within projects that have the goal to identify, design (financial modelling, business planning) and implement a portfolio of NBS related programs, projects and associated financial mechanisms in Brazil. This job position will report to Brazil’s Director for Sustainable Finance and Markets and work closely with the “Director for Nature Based Solutions” in Brazil while liaising with the international NBS team to design and implement sustainability related strategies and its specific programs, including incubation and acceleration programs, financial mechanisms/products needed to implement such strategies and associated financial models to its clients.
Moreover, the Team Leader, will also work with the sustainable finance director as needed in prospects’ identification and coordination, as well as packaging and marketing our business offers to new clients. As such it will also participate as needed, in the development of a pipeline of opportunities focusing on Brazil and will provide end-to-end project management with potential and existing clients; support the design of the programs’ elements, support the development of the commercial offer, and, day to day management of such projects for its full implementation (as per above).
Responsibilities:
Co-Managing closely with the SFM Director a portfolio of projects. As such, work with the SFM Director from the planning phase of each project to its submission and closing out with potential client, in partnership with the global NBS team and Palladium Country Manager in Brazil.
For each project, work with the SFM Director in day-to-day project management, which includes:
Coordination and execution of project implementation with the client, management of data room, ongoing updating of the status of the project(s) internally and with the client.
Prepare presentations, workshops and reports that are required by client.
Research and prepare high-quality written documents and slide decks with project status, risk assessment of project completion, needs and recommendations for the client’s knowledge and feedback.
Contribute with insights and ideas about the activities foreseen and monitoring of the deliverables.
Maintain strong and productive relationships with clients, investors and partners.
Write and edit high-quality Palladium products, including reports, policy briefs, white papers, and topic-specific and presentations to internal and other external audiences.
Engage with a variety of stakeholders for the purposes of building relationships related to Palladium’s work with NBS.
Support business development for NBS initiatives which includes managing the identification, assessment, pursuit and keeping track of new commercial opportunities.

Required Qualifications:
Relevant professional experience in management consulting and/or finance, or a combination of both;
Proven experience and high level of comfort in managing/delivering complex programs with the private sector with a solid track record of delivering high quality outputs;
Excellent analytical, financial and business acumen skills – which includes ability to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis including, but not limited to developing business plans, assessing different scenarios, financial modelling and so on;
Excellent organization and presentation skills in English and Portuguese (presentations to clients as well as internal presentations to senior management), Spanish a plus;
Ability to build strong client and in-company relationships;
Track record in the land use, energy and extractive industry;
Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Management/Administration, Engineering or related field;
Strong writing and presentation skills in English and Portuguese;
Fluency in English and Portuguese languages;
Based in Brazil.
Desired Qualifications:
Previous experience with clients, projects, programs, business models and/or financial operations in the land-use space (Reforestation, forest restoration, agriculture, conservation, nature-based solutions);
Business planning and development for community led entrepreneurship;
Development of new business lines though greener and sustainable financial mechanisms;
Knowledge, previous professional experience with carbon markets, net zero strategies and related topics;
Experience in the financial sector or consulting space highly desirable;
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience;
Experience working in the international development sector and/or the land use, energy and extractive industries as a manager or as a consultant;
Prior experience with managing complex projects with the private sector and/or financial structuring;
Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Fluency in Portuguese and English.
Preferably based in Sao Paulo – Brazil.
